Why I Created The Shadow Work Studio.

We are all different.

We have different needs, different ways of coping and completely different life experiences that shape who we are.

So why should support look the same for everyone?

This is something I’ve thought about a lot throughout my own journey as a therapist, and it is a big part of why I created The Shadow Work Studio.

When words aren't always enough

I trained traditionally as a counsellor, and I absolutely love what I do.

There is something incredibly powerful about having a safe space to talk, to be listened to and to make sense of the things we have experienced.

But I also know that not everyone finds it easy to put their experiences into words.

Sometimes, what we've been through can feel difficult to explain. Sometimes we don't know where to start. And sometimes the thought of sitting down with a stranger and talking openly about the things we're carrying can feel overwhelming.

Our experiences can affect us in so many different ways, and we don't always process them through words alone.

Sometimes, we carry things in our bodies too.

That is where The Shadow Work Studio comes in.

Another way to feel supported

The Shadow Work Studio has been created to offer another way.

A space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself and feel supported — without always having to find the words.

Through a considered range of holistic and therapeutic services, the studio will offer opportunities to pause, relax and spend some intentional time with yourself.

Whether you come for a treatment, join an event, explore a wellbeing session or simply take some time away from the noise of everyday life, the intention is to create a space where you can breathe, feel comfortable and be exactly where you are.

There is no pressure to arrive with everything figured out.

There is no expectation that you need to explain everything.

Sometimes, simply having permission to stop for a moment can be enough.

Looking after yourself matters

Life can be tough.

It can be stressful, overwhelming and sometimes just a lot to carry.

Sometimes we need someone to talk to. Sometimes we need space to process. And sometimes we simply need somewhere we can switch off, feel at ease and give ourselves a little time and attention.

I don't believe there is one right way to look after ourselves.

The Shadow Work Studio is about creating space for different needs, different experiences and different ways of finding support.

Coming soon to Buxton

I can't wait to open the doors to The Shadow Work Studio, although we're still a little way off just yet.

There is still plenty happening behind the scenes, and I'm so excited to share more about the treatments, experiences, events and support that will be available very soon.

In the meantime, if you'd like to find out more about The Shadow Work Studio or how I may be able to support you, please get in touch.

The service offerings will be launching very soon, and I genuinely can't wait to share everything we've been working on with you.

Until then, take a breath. Make some space for yourself. And remember that support doesn't have to
